Choice Board
To use Choice Board, please be mindful of below steps and make sure your students have the prerequisite skills below:
- The student should be able to match the pictures to the actual objects.
- The student should understand the use of choice board: There’s one preferred item on the board. The student should take it off and give it to the therapist. The therapist will give him/her the reinforcer immediately.
- The student needs to get the reinforcer by himself. The therapist needs to have correspondence check to make sure the student picks the right item off the choice board.
- Introduce more items on the board, therapists have to conduct correspondence check again.
- Introduce items not visible in the room (e.g. playground): need to start with matching first.
- Incorporate the choice board at work time.
