Waiting is a pivotal learning how to learn skills that impacts the success of learning more advanced skills, yet, learning to wait can be a challenge for many children.
A lot of childrenwithASD, when learning how to wait, don’t really understand what “waiting” means. They hear only the “no”.
Our new student, Frank, also doesn’t like to wait. Let’s see how AP’s therapists designed different programs to help Frank to be more patient. You’ll also get to know how we incorporated waiting and watching in an imitation task that requires a lot of patience for the student.
By the end of the week, Frank demonstrated his ability to be very patient with task for a very long duration.
