Expressive language refers to a child’s ability to use language to express himself. Expressive language is important because it is the primary way that people communicate their wants, needs, thoughts, and ideas to others.
When teaching Expressive Labels, it’s critical to select words that would be motivating to learn (e.g., eat, open, help, no, TV, etc.). Let’s see how we work on Cheuk Cheuk’s expressive language by using things that he’s interested in.
